Dr. Jaykumar Maradia, DNP, PMHNP-BC - Roseville Office
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Hi there, I go by Jay. I have more than 12 years of international healthcare experience, including practicing medicine abroad. My healthcare career started in Nepal where I completed Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). After working as a Family Physician, I migrated to the United States and I got opportunity to work in various roles to better acquaint with U.S. healthcare system. I worked in various sectors including Clinical Research Centers, Pain Management, and Family Practice offices before I decided to pursue career as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. To achieve this, I received my BSN from the University of Rochester, NY in 11 months and then went for Doctorate in Psychiatry from Rutgers University, NJ. During my graduate studies, the focus of my doctoral project was on major depressive disorder (commonly known as ‘depression’) in patients with chronic medical illnesses. I also had a chance to complete an integrated mental health fellowship in a primary care setting. While attending graduate studies, I also continued to work as an ICU nurse as well as a Psychiatric nurse in various hospitals. I received my board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in June, 2020.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and other mental health-related concerns. I am also certified to treat opioid use disorder including Suboxone (certified by SAMSHA). I like to utilize the model of psychopharmacology along with psychotherapy.
I love and respect emotions, “Emotions are the powers of the body which can let anyone achieve anything. They are the driving force of our life”. I am multilingual and can fluently speak English, Hindi, Gujarati, Nepali and currently trying to learn Spanish. I have a passion for helping people by aligning their emotions so they can find happiness and be productive as they wish. For me, the most satisfying part of my life is the trust between me and my patients as they let me be part of their life and share their emotions/personal stories. Every day, this provides me an opportunity to be a better person.
I prefer simple lifestyle. Simplicity is the way to enjoy life and be happy. I enjoy outdoor activities so when I am not in my office, you will probably find me somewhere in nature. I believe in, “Healthy brain is the starting point for having a Healthy Life”

Julia G. Korsunsky, FNP, MSN - Sacramento Office
Nurse Practitioner
I was born in the Ukraine into a family of a doctor and a structural engineer. In 1992 my family immigrated to the United States. Following my mother’s footsteps, I have always been interested in healthcare and medicine, thus I chose a path of Nursing with an emphasis on Psychiatry.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from San Francisco State University subsequently I received my MSN degree with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health and Clinical Nurse Specialist degree from the same university in 2006.
I decided to pursue a career in psychiatry in hopes of better understanding not only mental illness but also the psychological, emotional, and spiritual ailments that patients experience daily.
Before becoming an FNP I worked as a Psychiatric RN at San Mateo County for 13 years.an FNP I worked in psychiatric and correctional settings for 10 years. Shortly after attended San Jose State University and in 2010 graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
As a nursing student, I was exposed to a wide gamut of psychiatric illnesses such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and schizophrenia. My clinical experience took me on a journey through the healthcare system, from inpatient to outpatient settings, managing the care of everyone from adolescence to adults with mental illness to older adults with dementia and substance abuse history.
As a Nurse Practitioner I’ve treated an entire range of psychiatric conditions, ranging from straightforward cases of depression and anxiety to significantly complicated presentations including mental illness, substance abuse, and personality disorders
By far, the most rewarding aspect of my work are the relationships I have with my patients. My patients allow me a window to their greatest vulnerabilities and trust me to partner with them to help them get better. This is a great privilege that I will never take for granted. I learn something new from patients all the time, and this allows me to get better at what I do. Many of these patients are dual diagnosis patients, meaning they suffer from both substance dependence and psychiatric disorders.
In my spare time I practice good self-care, making sure to get enough sleep, meditate, spend time with family, enjoy scenic drives and watch newly released movies.

"Mare" Mary-jo Brooks-Motl, LMFT-Roseville Office
Therapist/ IOP Developer
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings throughout my career. I have worked from in acute care settings to small private practices to group practices that assisted people to come off medications safely while utilizing naturopathic medication. I do not believe in a cookie cutter approach to any one set of issues as each individual has a unique imprint in this life.
I am a strength based clinician believing in the power of mindfully working with each individual’s unique experience to provide safety for their experience of the healing journey. It is my belief that if an environment of kindness is offered a person will locate their healing organically, much like Carl Rogers offered his clients. Initially, I believe the approach I meet people with is unique enough they become curious to learn more about learning to heal trauma without retraumatizing the individual. I have been trained in EMDR, NLP, DBT, worked with a variety of traumatic events and believe a lack of information of the true nature of healing is what keeps one from restoring peace. Teaching peace is my passion and goes hand in hand with the healing practice of mindful living.

Catherine Tucker, LMFT-Roseville Office
Therapist
I was born on Long Island in the state of New York. I spent the first 17 years of my life there which profoundly and positively affected me in a deep appreciation of different cultures, the arts and a love for museums! I also have passion for intensive organic gardening, backpacking the Sierras, my dog and my 5 grandchildren.
I am one of 9 children in an Italian household. Raised by a mother who sang in the opera, music of all kinds filed our home… as did pasta and a good expresso.
I became licensed as a Marriage Family Therapist in 1994. I have added 18 years of experience as an EMDR therapist and over 13 years in Sand Play.
I believe human beings have an inherent need to find purpose and meaning in their life. I also believe that most people are inherently good. Most of us need help along the way to remember the journey we are on and how to hear our greatest truth within…and then how to follow it. Trauma, diseases and losses often get in the way. It is my privilege to assist those in my care to remember, reawaken and respond with power and positivity to who they really are in their lives.

I have been working at Advanced Psychiatry Associates now for over two years and find my work to be rewarding and inspiring. At Advanced Psychiatry Associates my face is sometimes the first you will meet for an intake assessment, before being paired with a therapist that will continue working with you on your path towards healing. There are many reasons to seek out counseling– pain, confusion, depression, anxieties, and struggles are common to us all. What matters most is that you feel heard, understood, and have a safe space to work through your issues you are facing in your life with honesty and hope.
As a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and other life hardships. Professional Counselor
I believe that every individual has the right to find their meaning in life and thrive and enjoy life with passion. I have extensive experience with clients dealing with work, career and relationship stressors, medical health issues, self-esteem, anxiety, social phobia, and domestic violence.
My idea of therapy is to support the client’s healing and growth process while developing their strengths and building their resilience, so they can learn new ways to cope with life events.
I am bilingual English Spanish and have several years working as a therapist and it my passion to be there for my clients.
Besides my work, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, watching TV mystery shows, traveling, and enjoying pizza and Mediterranean food.
